Welcome to the East Africa Neuroscience Institute (EANI)
Transforming Neurology & Neurosurgery in Africa
At EANI, we are revolutionizing neurological care across East Africa by providing world-class treatment, advancing research, and empowering healthcare professionals.
We aim to ensure equitable access to neurosurgical and neurological care for all.
Level 1: Patient Intake & Support
Patient Intake & Assessment – Every patient begins their journey with a comprehensive evaluation, ensuring they receive personalized care tailored to their neurological needs. Our expert team carefully assesses each case, guiding patients through their treatment plan.
Education Hub – Knowledge is power in healthcare. Our education center provides resources for patients and families, offering workshops, digital tools, and expert-led discussions to help them better understand neurological conditions and treatment options. Additionally, this space serves as a clinical training center, equipping healthcare professionals and medical trainees with hands-on experience in neurology and neurosurgery, further strengthening the region’s capacity for advanced care.
Non-Clinical Support Services – A dedicated team offers administrative assistance, patient advocacy, and financial guidance to remove barriers to care. We help patients navigate the healthcare system, access financial aid options, and connect with essential post-care support services.
Level 2: Outpatient & Diagnostics
Epilepsy Clinic – Specializing in diagnosing and managing epilepsy, our clinic provides expert evaluations, medication management, and lifestyle guidance to help patients achieve better seizure control and an improved quality of life.
Pharmacy & Laboratory – On-site pharmacy services ensure that patients have immediate access to prescribed medications, while our advanced laboratory offers essential diagnostic testing for neurological conditions, streamlining care and reducing wait times.
Administration & Education Department – This department supports the overall operations of the institute while advancing medical education and training. We foster continuous learning opportunities for healthcare professionals through collaborations with local and international experts.
Level 3: Critical & Rehabilitation Care
High Dependency Unit (8 Beds) – This unit provides intensive monitoring and care for patients with serious neurological conditions who require close observation but are stable enough not to need full ICU care.
Intensive Care Unit (10 Beds) – Our state-of-the-art ICU is equipped with advanced technology and a highly trained medical team to provide life-saving interventions for critically ill patients, ensuring the highest standard of neurological intensive care.
Rehabilitation Center – Recovery is a journey, and our rehabilitation center is designed to help patients regain mobility, strength, and independence. With a fully equipped gym and four specialized treatment rooms, we provide tailored physical and neurological therapy to optimize recovery outcomes.
Level 4: Neurosurgery & Neurology Wards
Neurosurgery Ward (20 Beds) – This ward is dedicated to patients recovering from neurosurgical procedures, offering specialized post-operative care and monitoring to support a safe and smooth recovery.
Neurology Ward (15 Beds) – Patients with conditions such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, and neurodegenerative diseases receive expert care in our neurology ward, where specialists provide medical management, therapy, and long-term support.
